Robert Cecil Kimrey
Robert "Cecil" Kimrey was hired as the Marlboro County Administrator beginning December 4, 2006. Mr. Kimrey, a Wallace, SC native was previously the Town Administrator in Pageland, a position he held from September 1992 until he was hired by Marlboro County. He also had previous experience as the Town of Hemingway's Administrator from 1976-1992.
Mr. Kimrey was born in Wallace, S.C. where he still has family, and graduated from Wallace High School. He currently resides in the Wallace area.
Cecil as known to family and friends holds a bachelor of arts degree in history, with a minor in political science, from the University of South Carolina and a master of public administration, with a specialization in personnel and planning, also from USC.
Cecil served as a part-time government instructor for Williamsburg Technical College in Kingstree from 1988 to 1992.
Cecil's professional affiliations include the American Public Works Association, and South Carolina City-Couty Management Association. He was also one of the first five administrators in South Carolina to be approved as a credentialed manager by the International City/County Management Association. He is currently under going further training in government through the Institute of Governments.
Cecil is married to Shelby and has two children and a grandchild.
