In accordance with SC Code of Laws Section 6-1-80, the following information is hereby publicized to provide notice to the public in regards to the adoption of the Marlboro County operating budget for fiscal year 2013-2014.

 

Time, Date, Location of Public Hearing on the Budget:  6 P.M., Monday June 11, 2013 * Economic Development Partnership Building - Council Chambers * 214 East Market Street, Bennettsville, SC.

The Wallace Convenience Center will open Tuesday, October 16, 2012.  Free Recyclables include:  Oil, Batteries, Filters, Cans, Glass Bottles, Metal, Newspapers, and Microwaves.  We will accept the following items for the prices as listed:

Tires - Car..........$2.50   Truck..........$3.50

Small Trash Bags..............................$ .50

Large Trash Bags.............................$1.00

Chair or Loveseat.............................$2.00

Couch or Matress..............................$3.00

Computers/Electronics.......................$2.50

Hours - Tuesday and Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 4 p.m.

* Loads of Debris "must" go to the Bennettsville Landfill.

 NOTICE TO CITIZENS OF MARLBORO COUNTY

 Outdoor Burning Ordinance

 

Burning of leaves, trees, yard trimmings, etc. must be at least 25 feet from any structure and 50 feet from property lines.  The fire must not spread within 25 feet of structures.  Compliance with SCDHEC regulations is required.  Proper notice to the state forestry commission (800*705-8615) for permission to burn or duly authorized representative is required before burning.  Burning bans may be imposed by authorized officials.  Civil and criminal penalties may result from unauthorized burning.
