The American Red Cross is a charitable non-profit organization led by volunteers.  The Pee Dee Chapter was formed in 1917 and has expanded its service areas to include Florence, Darlington, Dillon, Marion, Marlboro and Chesterfield Counties.

As a part of an international network of Red Cross societies, we are guided by seven fundamental principles:  humanity, impartiality, voluntary service, neutrality, independence, universality and unity.  These principles apply whether we are here at home or around the world, wherever Red Cross is working to relieve suffering, protect life and health, and ensure human respect.

Why Your Help is Critical - Even though The American Red Cross was chartered by Congress to provide a system of national and international relief during times of disaster, and to provide emergency services for the U.S. Military, it is not a government agency.

The Pee Dee Chapter is primarily funded through private donations of cash and in-kind items.  Financial contributions, volunteer time and donation of precious blood are needed now, more than ever.

The Red Cross provides Disaster Relief for people affected by natural and manmade disaster.  The aid provided may include shelter, food, clothing, replacement medications, rental assistance, mental and health services, and family well-being services.

To make donations by check or money orders, please make them payable to American Red Cross Pee Dee Chapter 1601-A West Lucas Street Florence, SC 29501.  For Credit Card donations, please call (843) 662-8121 ext 121.  For more information of the Red Cross, please click here.
